Back Pressure / Relief Valves
Back Pressure valves and relief valves are not the same – they serve different purposes.
BACK PRESSURE VALVES
Back pressure valves maintain a set pressure at the pump outlet port (discharge) to assure accurate metering and are also used to prevent syphoning. Use of the Back Pressure Valve assures proper metering pump check valve operation when the system pressure against which the pump is injecting fluid is too low. The Back Pressure Valve is a required accessory when pumping to a low pressure injection point below the tank level or when pumping from a bulk tank with a high head pressure.
Relief valves are designed to protect the piping and system from overpressure. Discharge is piped to the supply tank or to grade.
Neptune Calibration Columns provide a fast, easy and economical means of checking the flow rate of your chemical metering pump. The most accurate test of metering pump flow rate is to measure the drawdown rate on the suction side while leaving the discharge undisturbed in its normal steady state operating condition. Pump flow rate verification on a periodic basis or after maintenance is important to system accuracy. The Calibration Column can also be used to determine if check valves are worn or dirty. It is recommended to size the Calibration Column for a minimum of 30 seconds with a scale that will produce an easily readable differential within the test period.
Corporation Stops and Injection Quills
Corporation Stops with injection quills are used for injecting chemicals pumped by metering pumps into tanks, mains, cooling towers and process systems. Quill extends into the center of the stream providing more uniform dispersion of injection chemical. Corporation Stop can be mounted to a "hot tap" which is installed without draining the system. Corporation Stop allows injection quill to be inserted or emoved without having to drain or shut down the system.
Neptune dampeners are installed on the discharge side of positive displacement pumps to remove the pulsating flow caused by the start and stop action of the pump. Dampeners ensure a smooth and continuous flow, eliminate pipe vibration and protect in-line instrumentation. Dampeners may also be installed at the pump inlet as an inlet stabilizer to improve the NPSH condition of the pump by reducing the acceleration pressure losses due to the opening and closing of the inlet ball valve.
Neptune Sample Coolers are used to cool hot water or steam samples for easy handling and effective sample collection. Sample Coolers are suitable for use on hot water, saturated steam, or superheated steam services.

Vinyl Ester Resin Bromine Feeder
Neptune Bromine Feeders are a convenient and efficient way to properly feed solid biocides or other corrosive water treatment chemicals. Now offered in two body material options—vinylester resin and clear PVC— Neptune’s bromine feeders are designed to easily handle ball, stick, tablet and other forms of bromine. These feeders excel in applications involving feeding chemicals into cooling towers.

Neptune By-Pass Feeders are a convenient method of introducing treatment chemicals into closed circulating water systems. Neptune By-Pass Feeders are ideal for use with chilled water treatment such as air conditioning systems or hot water treatment in heating systems or large engine water jackets. Neptune offers two styles of By-Pass Feeders: A vertical style with dish bottom in and a vertical style with dish bottom out. Filters are available for system cleanup and monitoring. A new high pressure cap rated to 300 psi is now available.
Neptune Glycol Feeders are designed for the addition of glycol solution to closed loop chilled or hot water systems. The system automatically maintains pressure in the loop by adding glycol solution to make up for losses which occur due to leakage.
